Male’s Jobs

The vigorous hands, those of the men who produce and create. In this section, tools and work equipment are exhibited, which helped the progress and daily life of rural life.

What is there in front of a bench for making rakes? There are the vigils in the stables… those winter evenings spent in the company of other families in the warmth of the animals. There are children dazed listening to tales of “masche” and men, perhaps taciturn, working on a rake to use the next season.

An anvil was used to make horseshoes above all. Of course, but imagine the hands of the blacksmith who adjusts and adapts each shoe to the shape of the hoof. The deafening noise of the hammer hitting… the heat of the forge… The smell of coal and the animal a short distance away pawing the ground.

Then there are the mechanics, the turners, the carpenters, the blacksmiths, the bricklayers… who with sweat and skill, build and repair… give life to the hearths.
